Have drainage container ready to catch fluid.
1 a. Removal 1
1.
Remove drainplug (3) from differential assembly (4) and drain differential assembly (4).
2.
Remove twelve capscrews (2) and cover (1) from differential assembly (4).
b. Cleaning and Inspection
WARNING
Drycleaning solvent is flammable and will not be used near an
open flame. A fire extinguisher will be kept nearby when the
solvent is used. Use only in well-ventilated places. Failure to do
this may result in injury to personnel and/or damage to equipment.

Using drycleaning solvent, clean differential cover (11, twelve capscrews (21, and differential
assembly (4).

Inspect differential cover (1) for cracks, wear, or breaks. Replace cover (1) if cracked, worn, or
broken.

Apply RlV sealant to sealing surface of cover (1) and install cover (1) on differential assembly (4)
with twelve capscrews (2). Tighten capscrews (2) to 16 lb-f% (22 Nom).
2.
Install drainplug (3) into differential assembly (4) and tighten drainplug (3) to 13-18 lb-R
(18-24 N-m).
