mission oil dipstick
tube. Internal trans-
mission damage will
result if transmission oil
becomes contaminated.
Do not overfill trans-
mission. Damage to
transmission will result.
An over-full transmission
can also indicate a
transfer case fluid
leak. Notify unit
maintenance if trans-
mission fluid is above
crosshatch mark.
NOTE
Transmission fluid
level should be checked
with engine running,
parking brake set,
transmission shift lever
in "N," and vehicle
on level ground. Fluid
level should be at
crosshatch marks on
dipstick.
Engine operating temp-
erature of 190-230°F
(88-110°C) must be
reached before
performing AFTER
checks.
Check transmission fluid
level. If level is below the
crosshatch marks, add
sufficient fluid to bring the
level to the crosshatch marks.
