NOTE
Replacement procedures for right and left tailgate brackets are
basically the same. This procedure covers the right tailgate bracket.

1.
Remove locknut (7), washer (6), capscrew (51, and washer (6) from tailgate bracket (8) and shelter
support assembly (3). Discard locknut (71.
2.
Remove three locknuts (41, washers (21, capscrews Cl), washers (21, and tailgate bracket (8) from
shelter support assembly (3). Discard locknuts (4).
b. Installation
1.
Install tailgate bracket 03) on shelter support assembly (3) with three washers (21, capscrews (11,
washers (21, and locknuts (4). Do not tighten capscrews (1).
2.
Install washer (6), capscrew (51, washer (6), and locknut (7) on shelter support assembly (3) and
tailgate bracket (8). Tighten locknut (71 to 65 lb-R (88 Nom).
3.
Tighten capscrews (1) to 26 lb-R (35 N-m).
