l Shelter removed (Ml113 only) (rear shock
absorbers only) (para. 11-78).

NOTE
The replacement procedure for all shock absorbers is the same
except rear lower shock pins must be installed with head of pin
facing rearward. This procedure covers the left rear shock
absorber.
a. Removal
NOTE
For rear shock absorber replacement on Ml113 models, it may be
necessary to spread frame from body by positioning prybar
between hinge mount bracket and rear bumper to gain access to
shock absorber retaining pin nut. Perform steps 1 and 2 only if
required.
1.
Remove cotter pin (9), slotted nut (81, washer (71, and shackle (4) from body mount bracket (3) and
rear bumper (6). Discard cotter pin (9).
2.
Remove two locknuts (l), washers (21, capscrews (51, washers (21, and body mount bracket (3) from rear
bumper (6). Discard locknuts (1).
