CAUTION
All transmission parts must be lubricated with clean transmission
fluid (DexronB III) before assembly. Foreign material will cause
transmission damage.
Install plug (81, spring pin (71, regulator valve (111, two springs (12L spring retainer (131, reverse
boost valve (141, and bushing (15) in cover (10) with snapring (161.
Install converter limit valve (231, spring (21, and plug (11 in cover (101 with spring pin (221.
Install converter enable valve (5) and spring (41 in cover (10). Compress spring (4) and install spring
retainer (3).
Install plug (61, spring pin (211, spring (20), converter clutch valve (191, and plug (181 in cover (101
with snapring (171.
Install drive gear (25) and driven gear (24), with marked surfaces facing up, in oil pump body (26).
NOTE
Align reference marks on cover and pump body.
Install cover (10) on pump body (26) with five capscrews (29). Tighten capscrews (29) to 18 lb-ft
(24 N-m).
Coat seal (27) with petrolatum and install on pump body (26).
Coat selective thrust washer (91 with petrolatum and install on cover (10).
Install vent shield (30) on cover (101 with screw (31).
NOTE
Use small chamfered end of seal installer to install inner seal ring.
Using seal installer, pusher, and sizer, install inner seal ring (32) in pump cover (10) groove.
Using seal installer, pusher, and sizer, install outer seal ring (33) in pump cover (10) groove.
Using oil pump seal installer, install oil pump seal (281 on pump body (26).
