Equipment Condition
Brake protection guards removed (para. 7-11).
General Safety Instructions
Ensure brake pads are installed with linings
facing rotor.
Maintenance Level
Unit
a. Removal
CAUTION
Caliper must be supported during removal to prevent damage to
brake hose.
NOTE
Perform steps 1 and 2 for right side. Perform steps 3, 4, and 5 for
left side.
1.
Using crowfoot, remove two capscrews (6), washers (5), clamp (6.1), caliper (3), and yoke (4) from
adapter (2).
NOTE
Note positioning of brake pad surfaces for installation.
2.
Remove two brake pads (1) from adapter (2).
3.
Remove six capscrews (10), two-piece lockwashers (9), and halfshaft (8) from rotor (7). Discard
two-piece lockwashers (9).
4.
Install two capscrews (10) to hold rotor (7).
NOTE
Note positioning of brake pad surfaces for installation.
5.
Remove two brake pads (1) from adapter (2).
